MUSE

Florentina Holzinger (1986) is a young performer and choreographer who explores different modes of female representation, in an attempt to find a liberating space to give expression to the full potential of human physicality. His shows, often in collaboration with Vincent Riebeek, circulate around the world and are a blatant ode to contemporary pop culture, mixing dance, theater, skating and acrobatics.

Renée Copraij was a teacher for Florentina Holzinger at the School for New Dance Development (SNDO), in Amsterdam, and worked with Jan Fabre for 20 years on several of her theater, dance and opera creations as a performer and playwright. In her work, she is interested in exploring the limits of perception in the experience of our body.

Together, through an artistic residency at the Business / ZDB, they present a conference-performance, “Muse”. Punctuated by biographical examples and exploring the teacher-student relationship, Holzinger and Copraij want to be muses. They reflect on the role of intergenerational transmission, the lineage / artistic heritage of each one, establishing a dramaturgical device based on the biography, the archive and the documentation of their performative work.
